...Фамилия американского президента Джона Кеннеди не случайно упрятана в названии этой ставшей уже легендарной американской панк-группы. Политика играла огромную роль не только в социальной жизни музыкантов, но и непосредственно в их творчестве. Вплоть до того, что для многих имя Dead Kennedys стало синонимом политической активности.
К началу 80-х Dead Kennedys превратились в наиболее политизированную, а по мнению христиан и правых политиков и в самую опасную силу в хардкор-панке. За это двусмысленное лидерство команде пришлось расплатиться по полной программе. По большому счету, оно их и погубило. Хотя, с другой стороны, оно же обеспечило им долгую жизнь в фонотеках продвинутых меломанов и в творчестве нескольких поколений панков...
